报告人简介:
童荣标博士生于广东省普宁市,现任香港科技大学化学系副教授(终身教授)。2000年于湖南大学化学系获学士学位,2003年获得硕士学位。2008年于艾莫莉大学(Emory University)化学系获博士学位,师从Frank E. McDonald教授做天然产物全合成。2008-2011年在宾夕法尼亚大学(University of Pennsylvania)Amos B. Smith, III教授实验小组从事博士后研究。2011年7月起任香港科技大学化学系助理教授开始建实验室独立工作, 2017七月提升为副教授(终身教授)从事天然产物全合成及方法学研究,目前已经完成一百多个天然产物的全合成,主要的工作已经以论文的形式发表在专业的期刊上(通讯作者50多篇)。主要荣誉:2017台湾科技部客座讲习学者,“亚洲核心计划讲座奖”三次(2012年日本,2014年韩国和2014年中国),Thieme 化学杂志奖 (2015年), Charles Lester杰出成就奖 (2008年)。
Abstract:
Total synthesis of natural products has been playing a core role in chemistry and medicine research and has shaped organic synthesis as a central science to advance chemistry, biology, medicine, and materials. The strategy for total synthesis has evolved from single-target to multiple-target and new challenges of synthetic tactics and strategies emerges. Prof. Tong will present the development of a new strategy for the first collective total syntheses of sesterterpenoid natural products including aloketals, phorbaketals and ansellones, which are biogenetically related, structurally novel, bioactive sesterterpenoid natural products isolated from marine sponges. Central to the success of this collective strategy is the discovery of regioselective cyclization of vinyl epoxides with internal oxygen nucleophiles, which provide the key advanced intermediates for this family of natural products. Additionally, Tong’s synthetic strategy also features a late-stage allylic C-H oxidation to install the hydroxyl group on the complex substrates. Various unexpected synthetic challenges will be presented in a thought-provoking way and the respective solutions to these challenges are provided subsequently.
